In our family, the gift of artistic ability goes back generations. My French grandmother was talented. My mother is more talented, and she tells me I have passed her up. Our artistic ability seems to improve with every generation. My mother taught me the basics of drawing as soon as I was able to hold a pencil. Over the years, I have taught myself and improved on my own.
Portraits are a major focus and a favorite interest of mine. So I would love to be able to do portraits for individuals or families so they can have treasured keepsakes. I definitely want to attend an art college or university. Eventually, I would either like to make a living drawing, so I can stay at home and raise children, or possibly sell and or teach art in Japan, since I love the Japanese people and culture.

I love the excitement of finding something new to draw. I often search for pieces in magazines or the internet. Sometimes the pieces find me. I may see them on accident, or be given the idea for a piece from the least expected places. A typical portrait usually takes an hour to two hours in one sitting, but it depends on how complicated and detailed the subject is. When I complete a piece and am satisfied with it, I become excited. It is very rewarding when I see how pleased someone is when I give them a drawing or portrait of themselves. I feel blessed to be able to bring joy to people, and look forward to continuing to do so in the future.
